Privacy Policy

Account Information

When you create an Akaai account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed (encrypted) version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Content You Create

Blog posts, drafts, tags, categories, cover images, and any other content you publish or save on the platform are stored securely in our database.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage data such as page views, post views, and feature usage (e.g. how many times AI generation was used) to improve the platform. This data is anonymised where possible.

Payment Data

When you purchase AI credits, payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details. We only receive a payment confirmation and transaction ID from Razorpay.

To provide the service

Your data is used to operate your account, store your posts, and deliver AI features.

To improve Akaai

Aggregated and anonymised usage data helps us understand what features are most valuable and where to focus development.

To communicate with you

We may send transactional emails (e.g. password reset, payment confirmation). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

AI processing

When you use AI features, your post content or prompts are sent to our AI provider (Groq / LLaMA) for processing. This data is not used to train AI models.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services: MongoDB Atlas (database), Groq (AI inference), Razorpay (payments), and optionally Cloudinary (image hosting). Each operates under their own privacy policy.

No selling of data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Account data

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

Deleted content

When you delete a post, it is removed from our database. Backups may retain deleted data for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.

Access

You can access all your personal data through your profile and dashboard at any time.

Correction

You can update your name, bio, and avatar from your profile settings page.

Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data. Contact us at privacy@akaai.dev.

Portability

You can export your published posts in markdown format from your dashboard.

Session cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. This is a necessary cookie and cannot be disabled while using the platform.

No tracking cookies

We do not use third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.

Encryption

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a salt factor of 12. Database connections are encrypted.

Responsible disclosure

If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at security@akaai.dev before disclosing it publicly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date below and notify users via email for material changes. Continued use of Akaai after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
